Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you are well. We are writing to remind all families of the importance of applying for Free School Meals (FSM) if you believe you may be eligible. Following the introduction of Free School Meals for all primary aged children, there has been a drop in the number of families that apply. Even if your child prefers not to have a school meal every day, we strongly encourage all eligible parents to complete the application. This will help us to support your child and access the extra funding they deserve.
Why it’s worth applying:
Even if your child already gets Universal Primary Free School Meals (UPFSM) in primary school, applying for Eligible Free School Meals (eFSM) can give you access to:
- The School Essentials Grant (to help with uniform, kit, and more)
- Extra funding for your child’s school to support their learning
- Free school meals in secondary school
Applying is simple and confidential. You can check your eligibility and submit an application online at: www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/help-with-school-meals-and-costs
If you require support or are unable to complete an application form online, please call the contact centre and one of the FSM team will complete the form over the phone 01437 764551.
