Welsh/Cymraeg

At Lamphey Primary School all pupils and staff are very proud of their Welsh heritage. The Welsh language is an essential component in the history, culture and fabric of our nation and our school and is an integral part of our National identity.

At Lamphey Primary School we ensure that Welsh is heard throughout the day in all aspects of both the formal and informal curriculum. The school celebrates the culture of Wales throughout the year by visiting many cultural and historical visits, such as St Fagans, Castell Henllys and the Senedd, as well as taking part in local and national eisteddfods and many sporting events which are led by the Urdd.

All pupils are assessed at the end of Key Stage 2 in their ability to write, read and speak in Welsh. The school will be happy, on request, for all documentation to be issued through the medium of Welsh.
